Front Nine: 9th Hole

Old Cemetery
500 Yards - Par 5

The 9th is a dramaticly sweeping par five where an accurate drive is a must. Designed to be reachable with two well-struck shots, the 500-yard hole has a second shot to make the pulse race, with a diagonal line of bunkers splitting the fairway from 430 yards to 470 yards. A good tee shot is the key, but the sloping landing area will place greater emphasis on accuracy than on power.

The bold player must choose whether to try to carry the bunkers with the second. If the choice is to try to do so, then it is important that the shot hugs the green, as those finishing too far to the right will leave an awkward pitch to a green sloping abruptly from back to front.
