"A wonderful golfing experience on a challenging course with spectacular views. What a privilege it is to have this unique Scottish-style course in America!"
Lone Pine 541 Yards - Par 5 The 15th is a long-sweeping par five, which is a dogleg left. The huge pine on the left of the drive is closer than it actually looks, but it will still take a well-struck drive to carry it. There is benefit to be gained by doing so, because this line takes the two drive bunkers out of the equation.
The explanation of the second shot starts with the green. A central spine divides the green from front to back, with a central bunker forming two separate entrances to the green. Two fairway bunkers have been sited to stimulate everyone into choosing from which angle to play. The left one, the closer of the two, guards the route towards the left of the green, where there is a thirty-yard-wide channel all the way to the green. The right must be carried to open up the other line, although a valley to the right of the fairway lurks close by, making recovery shots rather tricky.
The prominent pine tree on its knoll was left behind when sand and gravel was dug out for road construction in the past.
