Back Nine: 13th Hole

Gateway
444 Yards - Par 4

A straightforward but difficult hole, this long par four features no bunkers. The drive appears relatively forgiving but it is much better to stay left from the tee, so that the second is played straight down the approach, rather than across the corner of the wetland area.

Take account of the valley dropping off to the left of the approach, as shots landing short will tend to break left after landing.

The quartz gateway behind the tee was probably the entrance to the farmyard for an early Freeborn homestead, the farmhouse of which was sited behind where the 6th tees now sit.
